01 XPeng Inc. and Chiplink Integration mass produce China's first hybrid silicon carbide product

Recently, XPeng Inc. and Chiplink Integration jointly announced that China's first hybrid silicon carbide product has achieved mass production. The product was designed by XPeng Inc., jointly developed and manufactured by Chiplink Integration. It innovatively combines silicon with silicon carbide, effectively reducing silicon carbide chip usage, thereby lowering costs while improving power density.

Silicon carbide materials offer significant advantages but high costs limit their application. XPeng Inc. previously launched its full-domain 800V high-voltage silicon carbide platform, and this mass production represents an important measure in its electrification strategy. Chiplink Integration, as a backbone of China's semiconductor industry, possesses advanced technology and has established a comprehensive automotive-grade quality management system.

This product's mass production holds great significance for both parties, helping XPeng Inc. enhance product competitiveness and improve vehicle performance and range, while expanding market opportunities for Chiplink Integration. 02 Domestic 10,000-card intelligent computing technology released, major breakthrough in supercomputing to intelligent computing transformation

Recently, the "Domestic 10,000-card Cluster Large Model Inference Technology" jointly launched by Pazhou Laboratory (Huangpu) and National Supercomputing Center in Xi'an was released in Xi'an, marking a major strategic breakthrough in China's supercomputing to intelligent computing transformation and providing crucial support for building an autonomous and controllable artificial intelligence industry ecosystem.

This technology enhances the computational efficiency of domestic equipment through algorithmic and basic software innovations, achieving high-precision, high-efficiency, low-cost, and low-energy operation of large model tasks. It solves the adaptation defect problem of domestic cards for large model architectures and can be promoted to various domestic cards and large models.

This achievement will promote the upgrade and evolution of traditional supercomputing toward intelligent computing, aligning with the strategic deployment of deep integration between artificial intelligence and the real economy.

03 Flying Faction's "Zhuque" eVTOL scaled prototype achieves global maiden flight success

On August 17, at Jiulong Lake in Guangzhou Sino-Singapore Knowledge City, Guangdong Flying Faction Technology Co., Ltd.'s independently developed "Zhuque" eVTOL scaled prototype successfully completed its first public flight globally.

Flying Faction's technical team consists of 80% members with experience in major military and civilian aircraft model development, deeply participating in over 20 aviation projects, holding more than 20 patents in core areas such as flight control algorithms and composite material applications. In the short time from project initiation to maiden flight, the team integrated deep manned aircraft system engineering experience and airworthiness safety criteria into "Zhuque" development, achieving efficient breakthroughs.

04 Multi-million dollar investment + strategic cooperation, WeRide and Grab Holdings jointly build Southeast Asian future mobility ecosystem

On August 15, WeRide, the "world's first Robotaxi stock," announced receiving a multi-million dollar equity investment from Southeast Asia's leading super app platform Grab Holdings, with both parties also reaching strategic cooperation.

Grab Holdings' business covers delivery, mobility, and digital financial services, serving over 800 cities across 8 Southeast Asian countries including Cambodia and Indonesia. WeRide, as a global leader in autonomous driving, has deployed related business in 30 cities across 10 countries and is the world's only technology company whose products hold autonomous driving licenses in 6 countries.

This cooperation aims to accelerate large-scale deployment of Robotaxis and other autonomous vehicles in Southeast Asia, integrating WeRide's autonomous vehicles into Grab Holdings' operational network to enhance service quality and safety levels.

05 Realsun Technology plans to establish high-precision high-speed robotics company

Recently, Realsun Technology plans to establish a wholly-owned subsidiary, Guangzhou Realsun Robotics Technology Co., Ltd., which has passed internal review. This represents a major strategic deployment, responding to national "Manufacturing Power" and "Digital China" policies and global robotics industry development trends.

The new company will focus on R&D, production, and sales of high-precision high-speed six-axis parallel robots, embodied intelligent robots, embedded controllers, and core components, providing high-end flexible precision manufacturing solutions, process technology solutions, and industrial automation software customization services for semiconductors, high-end precision electronics, 3C electronics, optical communications, and other fields.

Its high-precision high-speed six-axis PLR-S series parallel robots demonstrate excellent performance, while embodied intelligent robots will achieve intelligent operation transformation.

06 Three "post-80s" scholars from Guangdong enter valid candidate list for academy membership selection

On August 20, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering announced the valid candidate list for 2025 academy membership selection, with over 50 scholars from Guangdong selected, including 3 "post-80s" scholars attracting particular attention.

Lin Haotian, 43, Director of Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center at Sun Yat-sen University, has published over 150 SCI articles as first and corresponding author, covering top journals. He has developed intelligent devices for clinical application, created an AI "three-level diagnosis and treatment" model applied in multiple locations, and completed screening for tens of millions of people.

Liu Chenli, 44, Director of Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, focuses on synthetic biology, leading research to crack the "dialogue" mechanism between tumors and bacteria, providing new insights for cancer treatment.

Xu Xun, 41, Chief Researcher at Shenzhen BGI Genomics Holdings Group, has achieved outstanding results in single-cell and gene sequencing fields, published over 200 papers in top journals, and led multiple major research projects.

07 World's first! China's Jiangmen neutrino experiment officially operational, located 700 meters underground

On August 26, the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences announced that after over a decade of preparation and construction, the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) successfully completed the injection of 20,000 tons of liquid scintillator and officially began operation and data collection, becoming the world's first operational next-generation large-scale neutrino experimental facility.

The JUNO detector is located 700 meters underground in Jiangmen, Guangdong, capable of detecting neutrinos generated by Taishan and Yangjiang nuclear power plants 53 kilometers away and precisely measuring their energy spectrum. Initial data from trial operations show that key performance indicators of the detector meet or exceed expectations, enabling work on solving a major problem in particle physics - neutrino mass ordering, determining whether the third neutrino (ν₃) is heavier than the second (ν₂).

Compared to similar experiments, JUNO's determination of mass ordering is not affected by unknown factors such as Earth matter effects, and will significantly improve the precision of 3 out of 6 neutrino oscillation parameters.

08 CAS Space's Lijian-2 launch equipment debugging successful, commercial aerospace advances further

Recently, CAS Space's Lijian-2 liquid launch vehicle launch equipment installation and debugging tests were successfully completed. The launch equipment completed erection on schedule, with the rocket precisely positioned on the launch pad, wind protection devices accurately compressed, and all pre-launch prescribed actions including pre-backward tilt, long-term parking high-precision maintenance, and rapid pre-launch backward tilt replicated. All functions and performance were fully verified.

Launch equipment plays a crucial role in launch vehicle launch processes, undertaking key tasks including rocket body transfer and transport, erection and lowering, vertical support, fueling and gas supply, and connector recovery. This test simulated key launch site processes, equipped with various sensors for comprehensive detection of design parameters. Actual indicators exceeded requirement indicators, and various failure modes were verified, ensuring high equipment reliability.

#Technology Frontiers

09 China's first dedicated photonic quantum computer manufacturing facility lands in Shenzhen Nanshan

Recently, Beijing Boson Quantum Technology Co., Ltd., a leading domestic quantum computing company, established China's first dedicated photonic quantum computer manufacturing facility in Shenzhen Nanshan Zhicheng. The project is located in the core area of Nanshan's "Innovation Axis," with total construction area exceeding one million square meters and rich surrounding research and transportation resources.

Simultaneously, Boson Quantum registered and established two subsidiaries, responsible for large-scale production, sales, and technical services of complete machines and core components respectively.

Photonic quantum computing utilizes the quantum properties of light. Compared to other technical routes, it requires no ultra-low temperatures, offers advantages of large qubit scale, room temperature stable operation, and long coherence time. It is easy to achieve engineering implementation in the short term and represents an emerging form of commercial quantum computers.

After completion, the facility is expected to annually produce dozens of photonic quantum computers, forming batch production capacity, marking Boson Quantum's practical coherent photonic quantum computers' transition from laboratory R&D to engineering mass production.

10 NVIDIA robot brain launches: computing power increased by 7.5x, supporting real-time inference

On August 25 local time, NVIDIA announced the sale of its robot computer Jetson Thor developer kit and production-grade modules, with the first batch of kits shipping next month. This "robot brain" is based on NVIDIA's Blackwell GPU with 128 GB memory, achieving AI computing power of 2070FP4TFLOPS, representing a 7.5x improvement in AI computing power and 3.5x improvement in energy efficiency compared to the previous generation Jetson Orin launched in 2023.

It can run multiple AI workflows and achieve real-time inference, enabling robots to conduct real-time, intelligent interaction with humans and the physical world. Powerful computing power enables robot body control, object manipulation, and perception data processing to run in real-time, capable of processing high-speed sensor data at the edge and performing visual reasoning. Previously, such workflows could not run in dynamic real environments due to slow speeds.

NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang stated that Jetson Thor can build robot systems that interact with the physical world, driving the arrival of the physical AI and general robotics era. Currently, companies including United Imaging Healthcare and Unitree Technology have already begun using it. It is expected to assist robotics development across manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and other industries in the future. The product can also be used in autonomous vehicles, particularly suitable for Chinese automotive brands.
