In recent years, Meituan has consistently practiced its corporate social responsibilities, receiving this recognition for its outstanding contributions to safeguarding the rights of new employment forms, improving the social security system, and fostering a friendly employment environment.
Data from Meituan shows that from 2021 to 2025, the number of Meituan delivery riders from counties designated as national key targets for rural revitalization increased from 268,000 to 636,000. Currently, Meituan's pension insurance subsidies for riders have been implemented nationwide, covering over one million riders. Since participating as one of the first pilot enterprises for the new occupational injury protection scheme, Meituan has fully paid premiums exceeding 2.5 billion yuan for more than 16 million riders.
How can the social security system for workers in new employment forms be improved? In recent years, under the guidance of relevant authorities, Meituan has continuously enhanced its rider rights protection system. Starting in July 2022, guided by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Meituan initiated a pilot program for new occupational injury protection as a first-batch enterprise. By December 2025, it had cumulatively paid premiums totaling 2.56 billion yuan for approximately 16.68 million riders. To date, the "Critical Illness Care" program has assisted nearly 7,000 riders and their family members, distributing over 200 million yuan in care funds, thereby strengthening health protection for riders. By December 2025, the "Joey Fund" public welfare plan had invested more than 60 million yuan, providing financial assistance for children with serious illnesses to 1,211 rider families across 13 platforms in the entire industry.
In December 2025, in Fuzhou, Fujian province, a delivery rider inquired about social security subsidies at a service station. In November 2025, Meituan's pension insurance subsidies for riders were officially rolled out nationwide. This is the industry's first social security subsidy scheme open to all types of riders, featuring "no pre-qualification restrictions, no location restrictions for participation, no duration or order quantity restrictions, and no delivery type restrictions." Whether riders work long-term and steadily or part-time temporarily, they can participate flexibly and independently, with coverage extending to over one million riders.
At the awards ceremony that day, Jilin City Jishiyu Family Service Co., Ltd. was commended with the "National Advanced Enterprise Trade Union for Mutual Love and Mutual Recognition" award. Public information indicates that the company was established in 2014, is a labor-intensive internet enterprise rooted in the new retail industry, and is one of Meituan's food delivery partners.
Data shows that in 2025, there were over 10,000 delivery riders with disabilities actively working on the Meituan platform. In recent years, Meituan has continuously improved its labor protection system, striving to create a fair, diverse, inclusive, and non-discriminatory employment environment. Examples include promoting electronic communication cards for hearing-impaired riders and launching convenient features such as exclusive identifiers, speech-to-text conversion, and exclusive voice notifications.
Regarding rider traffic safety, Meituan introduced a "No Running Red Lights" safety incentive program, where riders receive daily rewards for not running red lights. Since the activity began in April of this year, over 400,000 rider participations have been recorded in the "No Running Red Lights" initiative. From January 2022 to the present, Meituan's offline traffic safety training and online awareness campaigns have cumulatively reached riders more than 142 million times. Since last year, traffic police departments across various regions have collaborated with Meituan to carry out incentive activities for riders who "do not run red lights."
In recent years, Meituan has partnered with over 220,000 "rider-friendly merchants" to provide meal discounts and rest areas for riders, and has established 25,000 "rider-friendly communities" in more than 150 cities. In 2025, riders claimed meal subsidies over ten million times cumulatively, with Meituan fully covering the cost of more than 2.3 million of those rider meals. Furthermore, Meituan has collaborated with relevant departments to establish thousands of "Rider Homes" and tens of thousands of rider service stations nationwide, offering facilities and services such as free haircuts, physiotherapy, training, and consultations.
The rapid development of the digital economy has given rise to various new service retail formats. Through technological and business model innovation, Meituan precisely matches diverse user needs, fostering a virtuous cycle between market consumption and high-quality supply, thereby promoting the vigorous growth and employment absorption of new professions such as homestay managers and elderly bathing assistants.
A relevant Meituan representative stated that the company will continue to actively respond to the Party Central Committee and the State Council's decisions and deployments on stabilizing employment.
