On the morning of September 3, a grand ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of China's victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held at Tiananmen Square in Beijing.

Dozens of MEITUAN-W riders and employees were invited to attend the ceremony, with some MEITUAN-W employees selected for the militia formation and honored to participate in the parade, jointly witnessing this glorious moment.

The 16 MEITUAN-W riders who participated in the on-site ceremony came from across the country. Among them were veteran soldiers who had previously participated in firefighting in the Xiaoxing'an Mountains and flood control along the Songhua River, as well as pioneer riders who rescued trapped drivers in traffic accidents.

As representatives of workers in the instant retail industry, they not only provide services to residents in their daily positions but also silently contribute to families, communities, and the public outside of work.

Rider Liu Jian is a "pioneer rider" from Chaoyang District, Beijing. In March 2024, he risked his life to rescue a trapped driver at a traffic accident scene, saying "Human life is paramount, I definitely had to rush forward." Liu Jian also encourages more riders around him to participate in community service, believing that "being able to contribute more to society is better than anything else."

Actively participating in community service has become a consensus among riders. In 2019, after the "Beautiful Chaoyang Knights" project was launched in Beijing's Chaoyang District, rider Chang Kai registered as a "neighborhood steward." Over six years, Chang Kai has led riders around him to follow traffic rules and ride civilly, encouraging partners to participate in urban environmental governance, saying "We have received support and services from the community and platform, so we should also create value for the community."

With attention and support from all sectors of society, rider protections have become more comprehensive, and many workers have created more personal and social value in this job.

Rider Gao Feng currently serves as the party branch secretary of MEITUAN-W's 707 rider branch. After the meal delivery peak hours, he goes out to inspect infrastructure issues, saying "From soldier to rider, my identity has changed, but my original intention to serve everyone hasn't changed. Support from all sectors gives me more confidence." When he was named "National Model Worker" in 2025, he said "As long as you put your heart into it, ordinary positions can also achieve extraordinary results."

Lian Shuangpeng, who was also invited to attend the ceremony, is a great father. After his son was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, he relied on delivery work to raise treatment funds. His spirit of self-reliance not only moved fellow riders around him but also helped everyone better understand the importance of rider work for a father and a family. MEITUAN-W's "Kangaroo Baby Public Welfare Program" has provided Lian Shuangpeng with financial assistance twice for his child's serious illness.
