The Gansu Provincial Market Supervision Bureau has announced the results of its 2025 quality inspections for building insulation materials and metal-faced insulated sandwich panels. The inspections, conducted in the first three quarters of the year, covered products from multiple cities and prefectures across Gansu Province.
**Key Findings:** 1. **Building Insulation Materials:** - Inspected products included molded polystyrene foam (EPS), extruded polystyrene foam (XPS), rock wool products for external wall insulation, and thermosetting composite polystyrene foam insulation boards. - A total of 83 batches from 53 manufacturers were tested, with 13 batches failing to meet standards. Common issues included thermal conductivity (average temperature 25°C), compressive strength, combustion performance, acidity coefficient, water absorption rate, and tensile strength perpendicular to the surface.
2. **Metal-faced Insulated Sandwich Panels:** - Inspected products included metal-faced rock wool sandwich panels, metal-faced glass wool sandwich panels, and metal-faced polystyrene sandwich panels. - Out of 20 batches from 20 manufacturers, 12 batches were found non-compliant. Issues included metal sheet thickness, core material density, peel performance, and bonding strength.
**Inspection Standards:** The inspections adhered to national standards such as GB/T 10801.1-2021 (EPS), GB/T 10801.2-2018 (XPS), GB/T 25975-2018 (rock wool products), JG/T 536-2017 (thermosetting composite polystyrene foam boards), and GB/T 23932-2009 (metal-faced insulated sandwich panels), along with Gansu-specific implementation rules for 2025.
**Regulatory Actions:** The bureau emphasized the need for stricter quality control amid nationwide building fire safety concerns. Manufacturers of non-compliant products face penalties, including product seizures and mandatory rectification. Repeat offenders or those suspected of counterfeit production will be subject to severe legal consequences.
**Consumer Advisory:** Consumers are encouraged to report quality violations via the "12315" hotline. Detailed inspection results, including lists of compliant and non-compliant products, have been published for public reference.
