Alibaba fell 2.3%. China's Alibaba said on Sunday it plans to sell HK$80 billion ($10.2 billion) in a share placement to fund artificial intelligence-related ‌development.

A deal by the Chinese e-commerce and cloud computing giant would mark the largest-ever primary follow-on offering by a Hong Kong-listed company.

Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) fell 9.5%. The decline followed its filing to sell up to $600 million of common stock via an at-the-market program, intensifying dilution worries even as Q2 revenue rose 86% year over year; management previously said data center revenue surpassed $100 million, but the financing headline dominated trading.

Among other individual movers, Moderna, Inc. rising 2%, NVIDIA rising 1%, Tesla Motors rising 1%, AXT Inc falling 3.87%, Tempus AI falling 2.49%.
