A Reddit user named TheyreEatingTheGeese posted yesterday (August 15) claiming to have purchased a Gigabyte-customized Radeon AI PRO R9700 graphics card through retail channels for $1,220 USD (approximately 8,766 RMB at current exchange rates). This card was previously believed to be available only through OEM and system integrator channels.

The graphics card's full name is Radeon AI PRO R9700 AI TOP 32G. Due to Advanced Micro Devices' current generation professional graphics card naming scheme (Radeon AI PRO) and Gigabyte's artificial intelligence application product line naming (AI TOP) both containing "AI," the product's full name features the interesting occurrence of "AI" appearing twice.

The Gigabyte Radeon AI PRO R9700 AI TOP 32G graphics card measures 267×111×40 (mm), utilizes a 12V-2×6 power connector at the rear, and features a cooling system comprising a VC vapor chamber + pure copper heatsink + dual ball bearing turbine fans. The GPU core uses liquid metal + thermal paste hybrid thermal compound, while other critical components employ server-grade thermal gel for heat dissipation assistance.

The Radeon AI PRO R9700 features Advanced Micro Devices' RDNA 4 architecture and integrates 32GB of high-capacity memory, specifically designed to accelerate larger parameter AI models. Its chip is the 4nm process "Navi 48," identical to the gaming-positioned Radeon RX 9070 XT, but with all compute units fully unlocked, providing 64 compute units.

In terms of performance, this card is positioned as an edge AI accelerator, suitable for high-performance AI application scenarios, supporting up to 1,531 TOPS of INT4 computing capability and 95.7 TFLOP/s of FP16 computing power.

Previously, this card was believed to be limited to OEM and system integrator channels, primarily sold to workstation manufacturers, making it difficult for ordinary consumers to purchase directly. According to the latest information, the graphics card is priced at $1,220 USD (approximately 8,766 RMB at current exchange rates). Including taxes and shipping fees, the estimated final price would be $1,324 USD (approximately 9,513 RMB at current exchange rates).
