MMG Limited (1208) announced a proposed change of its independent auditor after a tender process aligned with regulations set by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC). The ultimate controlling shareholder, China Minmetals Corporation, is a state-owned enterprise governed by SASAC rules, which impose limits on continuous auditor engagements. MMG Limited has engaged Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu since 2016 and, seeking to maintain audit independence, recommends appointing Ernst & Young once Deloitte’s service concludes.
Deloitte will continue as auditor until the close of MMG Limited’s annual general meeting scheduled for 28 May 2026, having been reappointed to audit consolidated financial statements for the year ending 31 December 2025. The board reported no matters that require shareholder attention regarding Deloitte’s prospective retirement and expressed gratitude for its services. The proposed appointment of Ernst & Young remains subject to shareholder approval at the 2026 annual general meeting.
