At today's Chengdu Motor Show, SAIC Volkswagen officially launched the new Lingdu L, with the 1.5T variant starting at a limited-time price of 119,900 yuan, while the GTS 2.0T model equipped with the fifth-generation EA888 2.0T engine starts at a limited-time price of 139,900 yuan.
In terms of dimensions, the new vehicle measures 4,791×1,831×1,469mm in length, width, and height respectively, representing a 7mm increase in length compared to the previous model, while maintaining the same 2,731mm wheelbase.
Regarding exterior design, the new Lingdu L continues the wide-body coupe styling, featuring class-rare frameless doors and a hatchback tailgate, adopting a fastback roofline. The GTS variant additionally comes equipped with exclusive dark styling packages, including 19-inch sport blackened wheels, blackened front grille, and blackened exterior mirrors.
For the interior, the new car features a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster paired with a 12.9-inch central control screen, powered by an automotive-grade Qualcomm 8155 chip. The infotainment system integrates Wenxin large language model and iFlytek voice system, incorporating DeepSeek deep thinking capabilities with dialect recognition support.
The new Lingdu L is built on the MQB-EVO electrical architecture, equipped with a perception system comprising 15 radars and 5 cameras, enabling L2-level assisted driving functions including Front Assist system, SWA lane change warning, ACC adaptive cruise control, IPA parking assist, and RPA remote parking.
In terms of safety, the new vehicle utilizes 75.3% high-strength steel and above, with up to 10 airbags in the highest configuration. It has completed over 600,000 kilometers of polar testing, extreme climate trials, high-speed collision, and rollover tests.
For powertrain options, the Lingdu L offers two choices. The GTS variant is equipped with the same EA888 2.0T high-output engine found in the Golf GTI, delivering maximum power of 162kW and peak torque of 350Nm, paired with a DQ381 dual-clutch transmission offering 200-millisecond shift speeds and 0-100km/h acceleration in 6.98 seconds.
The new Lingdu L also offers a 1.5T version as an option. This variant features a comprehensive power upgrade from the original 1.4T engine, equipped with the EA211 1.5T EVO II engine known as the "efficiency king," incorporating technologies such as Porsche's VTG variable geometry turbocharger.
Additionally, SAIC Volkswagen unveiled the new Lingdu L GTS race car. The new livery continues the 333 team's Peking opera mask tradition, featuring navy blue as the primary color tone with passionate red elements, and debuts the Lingdu 10th anniversary exclusive logo—combining the numeral "10" with track contours, complemented by Lingdu's signature red color, symbolizing a decade of progressive brand spirit. The new race car will make its debut at the CTCC Shanghai round in mid-to-late September.
