On the news front, according to Great Wall Motor's official announcement, the company's Brazil factory officially completed construction and commenced production in the early hours of August 16th, Beijing time, with the rollout of vehicle No. 001 - the Haval H6 GT marking the milestone.
The facility's first pre-production models include gasoline and hybrid versions of the Haval H6 SUV, while the Haval H9 and Poer pickup trucks are scheduled for production in subsequent phases. The entire factory employs 530 staff members, with 145 in administrative and office positions. Employee headcount is expected to reach 1,000 by year-end, when the facility will operate on a two-shift system. Initial production capacity stands at 30,000 units annually, with projections to reach 50,000 units by 2028.
According to company information, Great Wall Motor's Brazil factory spans a total area of 1.2 million square meters with a building area of 94,000 square meters. The facility features core production workshops including welding, painting (with robotic applications), and final assembly, along with comprehensive equipment and energy supply systems and efficient logistics supply chains. The plant has an annual production capacity of 50,000 vehicles and will initially manufacture key models including the Haval H6 series, Haval H9, and the 2.4T Great Wall Cannon pickup truck following production commencement.
