A shopping frenzy erupted ahead of an impending price adjustment for LAOPU GOLD. During Tmall's "3.8 Renewal Week" promotion, the brand officially launched its major sales event on February 26. At 2:00 PM that day, just one second after sales began, the transaction volume on its Tmall flagship store surpassed 300 million yuan. By the end of the day, sales from the single store had exceeded 1 billion yuan, marking a hundred-fold increase compared to the same period last year.

Data shows that within less than 10 minutes after sales started at 14:00 on the 26th, high-priced gold items such as a filigree mantra gold bowl priced at 627,500 yuan, a mandarin duck harmony ornament worth 500,000 yuan, and a 300,000 yuan gold toad were sold out. Simultaneously, over 30 individual products were snapped up immediately upon listing. Popular items were in extremely high demand: for instance, two versions of ancient-method handmade pure gold necklace with a Vajra pestle diamond pendant each generated nearly 100 million yuan in sales for the day. Five other items, including the Eight Treasures portable gold Buddha, a gourd diamond ornament, and a seven-gourd pendant, each achieved daily sales exceeding 50 million yuan. Additionally, close to 30 individual products recorded daily sales of over 10 million yuan.

On February 18, LAOPU GOLD issued a price adjustment notice, indicating that product prices are expected to change on February 28. Against this backdrop, during Tmall's "3.8 Renewal Week" running from February 26 to March 9, the official LAOPU GOLD flagship store introduced a promotion offering "100 yuan off for every 1000 yuan spent, with no upper limit." The store also scheduled daily restocks at 14:00 and 20:00, which triggered a wave of concentrated purchasing ahead of the price increase.
