Apple Autumn Product Launch Event Scheduled
Apple recently announced that its 2025 autumn launch event will be held at 1:00 AM Beijing time on September 10, where new iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods and other products will be unveiled.
According to public information, on August 26 local time, Apple released media invitations showing the event will begin at 10:00 AM Pacific Time on September 9, or 1:00 PM Eastern Time on September 9, at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. The theme is "Awe dropping," with the Chinese theme being "Upcoming Super Excitement."
Based on previous leaks, Apple will launch the iPhone 17 series at this event. A notable design change for the iPhone 17 series is that the new models may feature a horizontal camera module on the back similar to Google Pixel phones. This year's iPhone 17 series is expected to include four models: the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone 17 Air.
The iPhone 17 Air will be a new ultra-thin version of the standard iPhone, replacing the iPhone 16 Plus. This model will adopt a design philosophy similar to the MacBook Air first launched in 2008, emphasizing lightweight portability, with an expected thickness of about 5.5 millimeters, roughly equivalent to three stacked coins.
Additionally, Bloomberg technology journalist Mark Gurman previously revealed that Apple is about to launch a three-year plan to reshape the iPhone, including three consecutive major new models: iPhone Air, the first foldable iPhone, and a 20th anniversary commemorative iPhone. The foldable iPhone will launch in 2026, significantly reducing screen creases while featuring Apple's self-developed C2 baseband chip, adopting a SIM-free design and TouchID unlocking, with test units available in black and white.
A CITIC Securities research report noted that industry consensus believes Apple's entry into foldable phones would dramatically change the industry landscape. Apple has always prioritized product maturity and is reportedly working to overcome technical challenges including screen creases, hinge durability, and battery life. Omdia experts indicate that Apple's entry will "legitimize the foldable screen category" and trigger a new wave of demand exceeding the Android camp.
