At the 10th New Finance Forum held in Beijing on November 28, 2025, Li Chuanquan, Deputy Party Secretary, Director, and General Manager of Zhejiang Commerce Asset Management Co., Ltd., shared insights on the future development of the AMC (Asset Management Company) industry. The forum, themed "From Restructuring Order to Steady Progress: The Past Decade and Next Five Years of the Financial Industry," also released the "2025 China Financial Asset Management Industry Research Report."

Li outlined four key directions for the AMC industry's future development:

1. **Technology Application**: AI will play a crucial role in the industry. The disposal of non-performing assets, particularly risk resolution, often involves information asymmetry. Digitalization, informatization, and intelligent technologies can significantly improve efficiency in risk mitigation.

2. **Disposal Models**: The industry will shift toward investment banking, industrialization, and structured approaches, focusing on enhancing asset management capabilities.

3. **Functional Positioning**: Both local AMCs and financial asset management companies will need to strike a better balance between public responsibilities and commercial operations.

4. **Regulatory Completeness**: Further improvements in laws and regulations, including the anticipated introduction of higher-level legislation next year, will strengthen the industry's regulatory framework and promote uniformity.

Li also highlighted major changes in the industry over the past year, including adjustments in ownership structures of major financial asset management companies, stricter regulatory policies, and market pressures due to macroeconomic and real estate downturns.

Despite challenges such as unclear industry functions, regulatory inconsistencies, and operational difficulties, Li remains optimistic about the industry's future, emphasizing technological advancements and regulatory progress as key drivers.

The forum provided a platform for discussing the evolving role of AMCs in China's financial landscape.
