IPO Update | Everdisplay Optronics (688538.SH) Reapplies to HKEX for AMOLED Semiconductor Display Panels Serving Honor and Transsion

According to information disclosed by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on October 24, Shanghai Everdisplay Optronics Co., Ltd. (688538.SH) has submitted a listing application to the main board of the HKEX, with China International Capital Corporation as the exclusive sponsor. The company had previously submitted a listing application on April 23, 2025. According to the prospectus, Everdisplay Optronics is a leading manufacturer of AMOLED semiconductor display panels, dedicated to the research and production of AMOLED panels that deliver extraordinary color accuracy, excellent visual experiences, and low power consumption. In 2014, Everdisplay Optronics became the first company in China to successfully achieve mass production of AMOLED semiconductor display panels through its 4.5-generation AMOLED production line. The company expanded its capacity further with a 6th generation AMOLED production line and achieved mass production in 2019, successfully penetrating the medium to large size AMOLED display market. According to data from AVC, shipments of medium to large size AMOLED display panels are experiencing strong growth, indicating substantial future growth potential. Based on sales volume in 2024, Everdisplay Optronics ranks third globally and first in China. In the global display panel industry, the application of AMOLED display technology is expected to grow steadily compared to other widely used technologies such as LCD. The penetration rate of whole AMOLED display products is projected to rise from 29.2% in 2024 to 35.8% by 2030. Everdisplay Optronics focuses on advancing the deep application of AMOLED display panels across various sectors, particularly in rapidly growing markets with significant potential. Based on 2024 sales volumes, the company ranks second globally and first in China in the tablet/laptop sector, with a market share of 63.4% among local manufacturers. In the automotive display sector, Everdisplay Optronics ranks fourth globally and second in China based on 2024 sales volumes. The company has maintained collaborative relationships with leading Chinese smart device providers for over a decade. Its AMOLED semiconductor display panels have served top consumer electronics brands such as Honor and Transsion, as well as two of the five largest automotive companies in China. The company’s product supply capability spans various application areas, including four major sectors: tablets/laptops, smartphones, smart wearables, and automotive displays. Product sizes range broadly from 0.95-inch small wearables to 27-inch large displays. Financially, for the years ending June 30 for 2022, 2023, 2024, and the first six months of 2025, Everdisplay Optronics reported revenues of approximately RMB 4.191 billion, 3.038 billion, 4.958 billion, and 2.670 billion, respectively. During the same periods, the total annual losses were approximately RMB 1.602 billion, 3.244 billion, 2.518 billion, and 840 million.
