AMC Entertainment (NYSE: AMC) stock is soaring 5.28% in pre-market trading on Monday, following the company's announcement of its best weekend performance so far in 2025 and second-best April weekend since 2019. The surge in stock price comes as investors react positively to strong attendance figures and revenue growth driven by the success of "A Minecraft Movie" and the company's premium viewing experiences.

AMC reported that its Premium Large Format (PLF) screens, including IMAX at AMC, Dolby Cinema at AMC, and PRIME at AMC, along with RealD 3D showings, accounted for an impressive 33% of attendance at U.S. locations on Saturday, April 5. This over-indexing in premium formats demonstrates a strong consumer preference for enhanced movie-going experiences and validates AMC's ongoing investments in expanding its PLF offerings.

Adam Aron, AMC Chairman and CEO, expressed optimism about the company's future, stating, "After an expected slow start to the box office in 2025, the rest of the year looks to be much stronger. We expect to see one movie title after another in rapid succession bringing moviegoers into our theatres in droves." This positive outlook, combined with the success of "A Minecraft Movie" and the company's strategic focus on premium formats, appears to be driving investor confidence and contributing to the stock's significant rise.
