Warmth filled the air during the Chongyang Festival as neighbors celebrated together in harmony. On October 23, Caofeidian District hosted the "Our Festival: Chongyang" and New Era Neighborhood Festival themed civilization practice event. Organized by the Caofeidian District New Era Civilization Practice Center, the District Spiritual Civilization Construction Office, the District Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the District Cultural Center, the event aimed to promote traditional Chinese culture, honor the virtues of respecting and caring for the elderly, and foster a civilized and harmonious neighborhood atmosphere.

Volunteers presented fragrant cornel sachets—symbolizing health and peace—to the elderly attendees, carrying heartfelt blessings. In the traditional customs experience zone, representatives of the district's "Top Ten Lei Feng-Style Deeds" and local residents shared heartwarming family stories, crafted mugwort health hammers, and tasted intangible cultural heritage-style flower-shaped steamed buns, immersing themselves in the charm of traditional culture.

The "Our Festival: Chongyang" themed cultural performance became the highlight of the event, featuring lively dances, classic opera excerpts, and passionate folk music, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience. Interactive quizzes on Chongyang traditions and modern civility further engaged attendees, spreading awareness of cultural heritage in a joyful setting.

At the "Smiling Chongyang" photo booth, a professional photography team captured artistic portraits of elderly participants, preserving their radiant smiles as cherished memories. "I never had a wedding photo when I got married, but today I got to dress up and take pictures—it makes up for that regret. I’m so happy!" exclaimed Aunt Li, beaming as she held her photo.

Through cultural immersion, interactive experiences, volunteer services, and exemplary leadership, the event delivered a festive celebration rich in tradition and emotional warmth. Moving forward, Caofeidian District will continue leveraging "Our Festival" initiatives, integrating traditional celebrations with community needs and innovating "folk culture + civilization practice" activities to cultivate a society where festivals foster joy, neighborhoods radiate warmth, and civilization thrives—infusing the district’s spiritual and cultural development with enduring vitality.
