Elon Musk indicated in a Monday post on X that his companies are "moving towards integration," hinting at potential consolidation among his various business ventures, including Tesla Motors and his AI startup xAI.
Musk made the statement while responding to an analysis shared by electric vehicle analyst Sawyer Merritt, which referenced a Morgan Stanley report focusing on xAI's significance to Tesla. The report stated, "They will have to revisit this issue. We believe investors do not fully grasp how critical xAI is to Tesla and the broader Musk economy."
Musk has been vocal about collaboration between Tesla and xAI. In June, he mentioned that Tesla is working closely with xAI, which is developing the AI model Grok.
The idea of integration aligns with Musk's previous statements about potential investments and partnerships. In July, Tesla acknowledged receiving multiple shareholder proposals regarding investment in xAI. Musk expressed his support for Tesla investing in xAI, though he emphasized that the decision ultimately rests with shareholders.
