Former Xiaomi executive Cui Baoqiu has officially entered the home service robotics sector as an entrepreneur. Cui, often referred to as "Xiaomi's Technology Guru," is now focusing on this emerging field, which aligns with Xiaomi's broader AIoT (AI + IoT) strategy.

Cui previously emphasized at the 2019 China AI Summit that "Xiaomi's primary strategy is AIoT," closely tied to smart home applications. Home service robotics represent the next evolution in this domain. Sources indicate that Cui has engaged with multiple top-tier venture capital firms, and financing efforts are progressing smoothly.

Before joining Xiaomi, Cui held key R&D roles at IBM, Yahoo, and LinkedIn, accumulating extensive technical and managerial expertise. In 2012, he returned to China at the invitation of Lei Jun, Xiaomi's founder, serving as Chief Architect and later as Vice President of AI and Cloud Platforms, Chairman of the Group Technology Committee, and General Manager of the Group Learning and Development Department. He spearheaded Xiaomi's "CBA" (Cloud-Big Data-AI) technological transformation, laying the foundation for the company's tech infrastructure.

Cui left Xiaomi at the end of 2022 after a decade-long tenure, citing personal reasons. With his deep industry experience, technical acumen, and backing from leading investors, Cui's team is poised to make significant strides in the smart home robotics sector.
