A major construction milestone has been achieved on the Dalian Changhai Bridge, the largest cross-sea infrastructure project in Northeast China. The full 11.6-kilometer offshore main steel trestle was successfully connected on the 25th, a full ten days ahead of the planned construction schedule.

This main trestle represents the longest offshore steel structure of its kind currently under construction in China. As the core supporting facility for the Changhai Bridge project, its scale is immense, requiring the driving of 3,431 steel piles and a total of 67,000 tons of steel over a construction period of 423 days.

The successful connection of the steel trestle creates a seamless link between the land-based trestle and the main bridge's steel platform. This establishes an all-weather offshore construction corridor, significantly improving the efficiency of transporting materials, equipment, and personnel while substantially reducing safety risks associated with offshore work. This achievement marks the official transition of the southern construction zone into the primary foundation construction phase.

The Dalian Changhai Bridge, stretching a total of 25.5 kilometers, is a pivotal cross-sea project for Liaoning Province. It is designed to enhance the province's coastal transportation network, establish a vital link between the mainland and islands, and drive high-quality regional development. The bridge is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic in 2029.
