Air China Reports 3.9% Year-on-Year Rise in June Passenger Traffic

Air China (601111.SH) announced its June 2025 operational results, revealing a 3.9% year-on-year increase in consolidated passenger traffic measured by revenue passenger kilometers (RPK). Passenger capacity, calculated as available seat kilometers (ASK), climbed 2.5% compared to the same period last year.

Regional performance varied significantly. Domestic routes saw a slight 0.2% dip in capacity alongside a modest 1.4% traffic growth. International operations demonstrated stronger momentum, with capacity expanding 9.9% and passenger traffic surging 11.1%. Regional routes experienced a 2.2% capacity contraction yet achieved a 1.5% traffic increase.

The airline's overall load factor strengthened to 81.1%, marking a 1.1 percentage point improvement year-on-year. Domestic routes led this gain with a 1.3 percentage point increase, followed by regional routes at 2.8 percentage points. International routes recorded a 0.8 percentage point rise in load factor.
