During the 2025 European Telecom Exhibition (NetworkX2025), FIBOCOM unveiled a series of 5GFWA solutions based on MediaTek's T930 platform, including the FG390-NA module, which incorporates leading RF technology to fully meet the needs of North American operators. The solutions encompass a range of terminal options, including indoor IDUs and outdoor ODUs. With the T930's high-performance cellular capabilities and robust AI integration, these solutions are set to be the core engine driving the emergence of AI-powered home and smart platform applications. The FG390-NA utilizes an industry-leading RF front-end design, deeply integrating FIBOCOM's extensive experience in the 5GFWA sector to create a dedicated technical architecture that meets the requirements of North American operators. It is fully compatible with the 5G networks of major North American carriers such as T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T, providing high-performance wireless access solutions for various scenarios, including multi-family networks, rural broadband coverage, and enterprise connectivity, thereby accelerating 5G deployment for North American operators.
In terms of performance, the FG390-NA supports Downlink 6 Carrier Aggregation (6CCCA) technology with 400 MHz downlink bandwidth, achieving speeds of up to 9.35 Gbps on North American Sub-6GHz networks. Leveraging 3Tx technology and a high-linear power RF front-end, it provides an uplink bandwidth of 240 MHz, enabling peak uplink speeds of 2.8 Gbps. Additionally, it supports the L4S (Low Latency, Low Loss, Scalable Throughput) technology, effectively addressing latency issues. Compared to the previous generation module based on the MediaTek T830 platform, the FG390-NA offers significant improvements in both uplink and downlink speeds and reduced latency, catering to various demands such as 4K/8K video streaming and cloud gaming in North American households.
The FG390-NA also supports high power uplink PC1.5 and enhanced 8Rx technology with 3CC200MHz, affording a 40% increase in signal coverage range at equivalent speeds compared to traditional solutions. This leads to markedly improved connection stability and significantly lowers the required deployment density for North American operators’ base stations. More importantly, leveraging the industry-leading practices accumulated on the previous generation T830 platform, specifically in RDK-B and PurplOS, FIBOCOM aims to quickly and smoothly transition its mature technical foundations and experiences to the FG390, helping customers seize commercial opportunities related to carrier-exclusive operating systems. This launch not only introduces an industry-leading module but also delivers comprehensive solutions based on specific scenarios.
The indoor IDU solution based on the T930 supports tri-band concurrent Wi-Fi 7 at 2.4GHz/5GHz/6GHz, achieving theoretical peak speeds of up to 19 Gbps. This fully satisfies the smooth speed experience required for multi-terminal use cases, such as family TVs, computers, smart appliances, and VR devices, establishing a high-speed and stable connectivity foundation for a smart home environment. The outdoor ODU product solution based on the T930 effectively addresses the issues of "difficult internet access and slow speeds" in areas with weak network infrastructure, such as rural and suburban regions. It boasts theoretical cellular speeds of up to 9.35 Gbps, supports external high-gain antennas, and offers wide network coverage with stable connections. The solution supports Power over Ethernet (POE) power supply, eliminating the need for additional power line installations, significantly reducing installation difficulties and costs. It meets extreme standards for high and low temperatures, ensuring suitability for outdoor environments.
