Shares of the CSOP 2x Long SK Hynix ETF (07709) surged more than 7% at one point during the trading session. At the time of writing, the ETF was up 5.65%, trading at HK$103.9 with a turnover of HK$888 million.
The sharp price movement follows reports that SK Hynix is planning a US listing as early as August. It is believed the US Securities and Exchange Commission is likely to approve the company's application for an American Depositary Receipt (ADR) listing during the week of June 22.
In a statement, SK Hynix clarified its plans, saying, "SK Hynix plans to issue ADRs within 2026, with the specific scale and timing yet to be determined." The company had previously indicated in March that it had confidentially filed for a US listing. A source at the time suggested the offering could potentially raise up to $14 billion in capital.
