The Direxion Daily MU Bull 2X Shares (MUU), a leveraged exchange-traded fund designed to deliver twice the daily performance of Micron Technology Inc., experienced a sharp decline of 5.05% during the night session.

The significant drop in the fund tracking Micron appears linked to news that competitor SK Hynix is resuming a major expansion of its NAND flash memory production in China. According to a report, SK Hynix is moving forward with the previously suspended second-phase expansion of its Dalian factory, targeting a new production line with a monthly output of 30,000 to 50,000 wafers by 2026.

This move to significantly increase memory chip supply comes amid a historic recovery in NAND flash prices. The expansion could intensify competition in the global memory market, potentially raising investor concerns about future pricing power and profitability for industry players like Micron, whose performance the MUU ETF is designed to magnify.
