On May 13, 2026, Baopinghu Subdistrict in Tinghu District, Yancheng City, carried out a series of public welfare activities themed "Guarding Humanity, Moving Forward Together" to mark the 79th World Red Cross Day. The events were jointly organized by the subdistrict's convenience service center, the new era civilization practice center, the Red Cross branch, and the community health service center. The activities included campus education, enterprise mobilization, and convenience services, aiming to spread the warmth of the Red Cross and promote the spirit of humanity, fraternity, and dedication.
The first stop of the event was at the Huanke City School, where training sessions were conducted for all students. Volunteers detailed the origin, purpose, and significance of the Red Cross, distributed promotional materials, and provided knowledge on life education. This was followed by emergency rescue training, where professionals demonstrated the standard use of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillators (AED), guiding students through hands-on practice. The initiative aimed to instill in young people the concept of respecting, cherishing, and protecting life, effectively enhancing the self-rescue and mutual aid capabilities of both teachers and students.
Subsequently, staff and volunteers visited enterprises within the jurisdiction to carry out public welfare promotion and mobilization. They called on caring enterprises, institutions, and individuals to actively donate, pooling social resources to support and assist vulnerable groups. Additionally, on-site convenience services such as free blood pressure and blood sugar measurements, along with consultations on common disease prevention, were provided, effectively addressing practical needs of the community.
This event not only popularized Red Cross knowledge and emergency skills but also conveyed social warmth and compassion. Moving forward, Baopinghu Subdistrict will continue to promote the dissemination of Red Cross life education knowledge in rural areas, schools, enterprises, government institutions, and households, guiding the public to correctly understand the value of life and ensuring the Red Cross spirit takes root within the community.
