The E Fund Asia Semiconductor ETF (03486) climbed nearly 4% during Tuesday afternoon trading, with shares recently up 3.95% to HK$20.24 on turnover of approximately HK$2.09 million.

Market sentiment has been bolstered by OpenAI's official launch of GPT-6 Astra, which analysts believe signals the AI computing sector has fully entered a new era dominated by inference-driven demand. This shift is expected to sustain robust demand for advanced semiconductor components across the region.

Adding to the optimistic tone, recent supply chain checks conducted by Haitong International, alongside insights from the SEMICON 2026 exhibition, indicate that the DRAM market outlook is considerably stronger than previously feared. Notably, the research team, which had issued a bearish report on DRAM stocks in early July, has now reversed its stance and turned bullish on the sector.

Supporting this renewed confidence, Counterpoint's latest data reveals that global DRAM market revenue in the second quarter of 2026 surged 385% year-over-year and grew 57% sequentially. While the pace of memory price increases has moderated, the upward trend remains intact, reinforcing positive sentiment across the memory supply chain.

The E Fund Asia Semiconductor ETF (03486) provides diversified exposure to leading companies throughout Asia's semiconductor ecosystem, including memory, foundry, and advanced packaging segments. Its largest holding is SK Hynix, positioning the fund as a convenient vehicle for investors seeking direct participation in the ongoing recovery of both memory and wafer fabrication sectors.
