Entering November, traffic flows constantly through the Yuanjiang Cross-border Logistics Industrial Park along the China-Laos Railway. Trucks loaded with tropical fruits, vegetables and cross-border goods move in and out in an orderly manner, while sorting, loading, unloading and inspection operations run efficiently, creating a bustling scene. As a key node park connecting to South and Southeast Asian markets, it has become the core hub for Yuanjiang County's tropical agricultural product exports, cross-border goods transshipment and coordinated domestic and foreign trade development.

Yuanjiang Xiansen Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. is an agricultural e-commerce enterprise in Yuanjiang that has been deeply engaged in specialty tropical fruit e-commerce supply chain services for many years. For a long time, problems such as premises, cold storage and equipment constraints held back the company's growth. Li Xu, general manager of Yuanjiang Xiansen Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., said: "Before coming to the park, basically the related supporting premises and equipment were not in place, so the scale and the customers we could serve were limited to small, scattered clients." Since settling in the park in June 2026, the park has provided Yuanjiang Xiansen Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. with 3,000 square meters of standardized factory space, along with cold storage, preservation warehouses, ripening rooms, fruit and vegetable processing equipment and large-scale AI intelligent sorting equipment. Relying on the park's resources, the company has jumped from a primary e-commerce enterprise to a specialized fruit and vegetable supply chain company, with significantly improved supply and service capabilities, providing stable standardized product output for various channels including national chain fruit stores, large supermarkets, wholesale stalls, community group buying and platform e-commerce. "After coming to the park, the standardized factory buildings, standardized equipment, and the convenient logistics and transportation and other comprehensive favorable conditions have all helped us grow rapidly. With these conditions, when we connect with the market, including large chain store channels, market stalls and large e-commerce platforms, we can take on these orders," said Li Xu, general manager of Yuanjiang Xiansen Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd.

At present, seven trading, logistics and agricultural product storage and processing enterprises have settled in the park, including Yuanjiang Xiansen Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., Ganguo Import and Export Trade (Yunnan) Co., Ltd., Yunnan Yongliang Seed Industry Co., Ltd. and Tashanzhishi (Yuanjiang) Logistics Development Co., Ltd. With complete hardware facilities and convenient railway logistics advantages, they achieve efficient stocking, rapid customs clearance and smooth export sales. "We have served more than 16,000 vehicles and more than 300 enterprises. Over the past two years, we achieved growth of about 15% this year. Due to the convenience of inspection and the in-place services provided by the government, subdistrict and local authorities, we are now recognized by customers, customs brokers and drivers," said He Qiong, general manager of Ganguo Import and Export Trade (Yunnan) Co., Ltd.

From scattered operations to centralized entry into the park, from "each managing its own affairs" to "one-stop" services, more and more enterprises are riding the momentum of the China-Laos Railway and finding a foothold for development in Yuanjiang. It is reported that the blueprint for this industrial park was drawn as early as 2020. It originated from the Yuanjiang County Honghe Valley Agricultural Products Logistics and Trading Park construction project that year, based on Yuanjiang's unique dry-hot valley climate and planned around the distribution advantages of tropical fruits and other agricultural products. Chen Kejin, chairman and general manager of Yuanjiang Golden Sun Industrial Development Investment Co., Ltd., said: "The project is planned to be developed in the form of rolling development. On the basis of linking with the Honghe Valley Agricultural Products Logistics and Trading Park, the new project has established a customs supervision area and related areas for agricultural product sorting, packaging and cold chain." The project adheres to construction while operating. On June 10, 2024, the Yuxi Customs Yuanjiang Workstation was established, proactively building a platform to undertake fruit inspection business for exports to Thailand via the Mohan port. As of September 30, 2026, the logistics park had completed a total of 12,141 batches of fruit and vegetable inspections for exports to Thailand, with a cargo weight of 257,500 tons and a value of 1.74 billion yuan; the China-Laos Railway Yuanjiang Station had handled a cumulative total of 2.4602 million tons of arriving and departing goods, achieving orderly connection and turnover in the logistics park. Chen Kejin said the follow-up project will continue to lay out deep processing of agricultural products and supporting facilities. Relying on the China-Laos Railway Yuanjiang Station, it will build a domestic and foreign trade transshipment and road-rail intermodal transport area, and lay out exhibition and sales centers for specialty agricultural products and tropical fruits, offices, living and industrial supporting facilities.

When the park thrives, the whole region prospers. Relying on the existing logistics foundation, the park continuously improves cold chain storage, road-rail intermodal transport and full-chain cross-border trade services, gathers enterprises and smooths domestic and international circulation, continuously promoting the transformation of corridor advantages into industrial advantages and development advantages. As the park's clustering effect continues to be released, Ganzhuang Subdistrict, where the project is located, has ushered in brand-new development opportunities, transforming from a traditional agricultural town into an open node with active logistics distribution and trade, with the dividends of the corridor economy fully benefiting local development and people's livelihoods. Guo Qin, head of Ganzhuang Restaurant, said happily: "Since the railway opened, more and more bosses and truck drivers have come to Ganzhuang to buy fruit. Ganzhuang Restaurant has far more customers than before, and business is getting better and better. The park's prosperity brings development to Ganzhuang's economy and tangible benefits to ordinary people."

From the quiet transformation of an agricultural town to the vigorous growth of one enterprise after another, and then to the bulging wallets of the people, the driving effect of the China-Laos Railway is continuously amplifying. Looking to the future, Yuanjiang County is seizing the opportunity of the three-year action plan for development along the China-Laos Railway, further improving facilities, optimizing services and expanding clusters, and promoting the park's transformation and upgrading from a "corridor economy" to an "industrial economy." Next, around Yuanjiang's work goal of building an open inland port facing South and Southeast Asia, the park will maintain strategic resolve and carefully operate tactically, focusing on dry-hot valley specialty agriculture, tropical fruit and vegetable processing and cross-border cold chain distribution, strengthening the industrial chain, filling in supporting facilities, doing a good job in investment promotion and service guarantees for landed enterprises, and striving to transform the corridor economy into an industrial economy, said Li Ting, deputy director of the Yunnan Yuanjiang Industrial Park Management Committee.
