Shares within the space sector were predominantly higher on Thursday. Virgin Galactic (SPCE.US) surged close to 20%, while Redwire (RDW.US) gained nearly 15%. The "SpaceX concept fund" Destiny Tech100 (DXYZ.US) climbed over 7%, Planet Labs PBC (PL.US) advanced almost 4%, and Rocket Lab (RKLB.US) increased by more than 2%.

The positive sentiment was fueled by news that Elon Musk's SpaceX is targeting a June 12th listing on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol "SPCX". This public offering has the potential to become the largest Initial Public Offering in history.

The company aims to raise $75 billion through the IPO, which is more than double the amount raised by the previous record holder. SpaceX has commenced its IPO roadshow and plans to offer 555,555,555 shares of Class A common stock to the public at an anticipated price of $135 per share. This structure will allow retail investors to participate at the same price as large institutional investors.
