Tokyo Chuo Auction Holdings (01939) jumped more than 9% in Hong Kong trading, climbing 9.44% to HK$4.87 at the time of writing with a turnover of HK$7.09 million. This momentum follows the company's release of its annual results for the period ending March 31, 2025. The auction house reported revenue of HK$62.051 million, representing a 7.3% year-over-year increase. Notably, losses attributable to shareholders narrowed significantly by 27.6% to HK$19.461 million, while basic loss per share stood at 3.89 HK cents.
In a separate corporate development on July 4, the board proposed a comprehensive rebranding initiative. The company intends to change its English name from "Tokyo Chuo Auction Holdings Limited" to "Shangshan Gold International Holdings Limited" and its Chinese name from "东京中央拍卖控股有限公司" to "上善黄金国际控股有限公司". This strategic renaming signals a potential shift in the company's business focus and market positioning.
