WESTCHINACEMENT's stock price surged 5.44% during intraday trading on Friday, reflecting significant investor activity.

The sharp increase follows the company's announcement that it has entered into a share sale and subscription agreement to fully acquire South African cement producer AfriSam for US$145 million. WESTCHINACEMENT stated the acquisition will expand its cement business and geographical footprint in Southern Africa.

AfriSam is a leading market player with an annual cement production capacity of 4.5 million tons, and the acquisition includes two integrated cement plants with complete clinker production lines, offering full control from raw material to finished product.
