Minister Wang Wentao Talks with Dutch Economy Minister Karremans

On October 21, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao held a telephone conversation with Dutch Economy Minister Karremans at the latter's request, during which they exchanged views on issues related to ASML and others. Wang expressed that China attaches great importance to China-Netherlands economic and trade cooperation. He pointed out that the measures taken by the Netherlands regarding ASML significantly impact the stability of the global supply chain. China urges the Netherlands to consider the overall stability and safety of the global supply chain, adhere to contractual spirit as well as market-oriented and rule-based principles, and promptly resolve the issues to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese investors, thereby fostering a fair, transparent, and predictable business environment. Karremans stated that the Netherlands highly values its economic and trade relationship with China and is willing to maintain close communication with China to seek constructive solutions to the ASML issue.
