Alibaba Launches "Bao Bei Yun Li" to Enter Campus Instant Delivery Market and Compete with Meituan

According to recent reports, Alibaba is launching a new business called "Bao Bei Yun Li," developed by Cainiao's related team. The service was originally called "Bao Bei Yi Zhan" and has been quietly in preparation since the beginning of this year before being officially renamed to "Bao Bei Yun Li."

"Bao Bei Yun Li" is an instant delivery service product that Cainiao Post provides for university faculty and students, leveraging its logistics solutions and delivery service experience by integrating campus resources and establishing a unified standardized delivery system.

According to reports, station managers can directly create delivery stations locally through the Bao Bei Yun Li platform and invite riders and food delivery merchants to join their stations. Station managers don't necessarily have to be Cainiao Post station managers - anyone who can assemble their own delivery team and merchant food delivery resources appears eligible to become a station manager.

When merchants need to fulfill orders, including food deliveries from platforms such as Meituan, Taobao Flash Purchase (Ele.me), and JD.com, notifications are sent to the stations. Station managers then assign the delivery orders to riders for fulfillment, supporting delivery directly to dormitory rooms.

The delivery billing includes notification costs for SMS, phone calls, and meal pickup, with each order costing approximately 0.1 yuan. Food delivery shipping fees are calculated separately, with different pricing for general delivery and dormitory door delivery, both set by station managers.

It's worth noting that Meituan is also preparing a new instant retail project targeting university campus scenarios called "Campus Mini Warehouse." This involves establishing small flash warehouses within or near campuses, covering high-frequency demands such as snacks, beverages, stationery, and daily necessities, achieving "instant ordering and fast delivery."
