Shares of Plug Power Inc. (PLUG) surged 5.24% in pre-market trading on Monday, following the announcement of a significant expansion in its strategic collaboration with Allied Green Ammonia. The hydrogen fuel cell maker revealed a new 2 gigawatt (GW) electrolyzer deal tied to a sustainable fuels project in Uzbekistan, building upon their existing partnership.

This latest agreement, set to be executed at the Tashkent International Investment Forum, marks a substantial step forward in Plug Power's global decarbonization efforts. The project in Uzbekistan adds to an earlier 3 GW electrolyzer commitment for a green ammonia facility in Australia, bringing the total collaboration between Plug Power and Allied Green to an impressive 5 GW globally.

Plug Power's electrolyzer technology will play a crucial role in a $5.5 billion green chemical production facility in Uzbekistan, backed by the country's government. The facility aims to produce sustainable aviation fuel, green urea, and green diesel, further solidifying Plug Power's position as a leader in the global hydrogen transition. Investors appear to be reacting positively to this expansion, seeing it as a sign of growing demand for Plug Power's clean energy solutions and the company's ability to secure large-scale projects in emerging markets.
