PDD's 3Q Earnings Likely Weighed by Spending on Measures to Support Merchants -- Market Talk

0352 GMT - PDD Holdings' 3Q earnings are likely dragged lower by spending on initiatives to support merchants on its e-commerce platforms, Citi analysts say in a research note. Management has noted that solid 2Q profit isn't sustainable given its commitment to offering support for merchants. Citi forecasts 3Q adjusted net profit to decline 5% on year to 26 billion yuan, and could be better than expected if the overseas segment outperforms. Citi maintains a buy rating on the stock and trims its target price to $167.00 from $168.00. The ADRs last traded at $127.35. (tracy.qu@wsj.com)
