Chagee Likely to Face Same-Store Sales Pressure in 2H -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Sep 01

0734 GMT - Chagee may continue facing same-store sales pressure in 2H, as it attempts to avoid price wars to preserve its premium position, say Citi analysts in a note. While the company maintaining its premium branding should be favorable over the long term, the analysts trim their nearer-term forecasts. They lower adjusted core net profit projections by 11% and 8% for 2025 and 2026, respectively. They also estimate that 2025 same-store sales will fall 17% instead of the previously-assumed 13%. Citi opens a 30-day short-term negative view on Chagee, and lowers the target price on its ADR to US$29.50 from US$35.40 with a buy/high risk rating. The ADRs last closed at US$19.11.
