Brambles to cut jobs, CEO prepares for global slowdown

Transport and logistics giant Brambles is preparing to cut hundreds of jobs as it braces for tougher economic conditions that chief executive Graham Chipchase blames mostly on the uncertainty caused by the Trump administration’s policies.

Brambles, which operates a pool of 348 million pallets, crates and containers mainly under the CHEP brand, transporting goods to retailers in 60 countries, delivered a strong 15 per cent rise in profits in 2024-25 to $US896 million ($1.39 billion), which sent its shares up almost 11 per cent to a record high.
