In the lead-up to this report, the analysts had been modelling revenues of US$238.8m and earnings per share (EPS) of US$2.42 in 2025. The consensus price target rose 11% to US$29.40despite there being no meaningful change to earnings estimates. It could be that the analystsare reflecting the predictability of HBT Financial's earnings by assigning a price premium. That's not the only conclusion we can draw from this data however, as some investors also like to consider the spread in estimates when evaluating analyst price targets. The most optimistic HBT Financial analyst has a price target of US$31.00 per share, while the most pessimistic values it at US$27.00. Even so, with a relatively close grouping of estimates, it looks like the analysts are quite confident in their valuations, suggesting HBT Financial is an easy business to forecast or the the analysts are all using similar assumptions.

These estimates are interesting, but it can be useful to paint some more broad strokes when seeing how forecasts compare, both to the HBT Financial's past performance and to peers in the same industry. It's pretty clear that there is an expectation that HBT Financial's revenue growth will slow down substantially, with revenues to the end of 2025 expected to display 8.0% growth on an annualised basis. This is compared to a historical growth rate of 10% over the past five years. Juxtapose this against the other companies in the industry with analyst coverage, which are forecast to grow their revenues (in aggregate) 7.4% annually. So it's pretty clear that, while HBT Financial's revenue growth is expected to slow, it's expected to grow roughly in line with the industry.

The Bottom Line

The most obvious conclusion is that there's been no major change in the business' prospects in recent times, with the analysts holding their earnings forecasts steady, in line with previous estimates. Happily, there were no real changes to revenue forecasts, with the business still expected to grow in line with the overall industry. We note an upgrade to the price target, suggesting that the analysts believes the intrinsic value of the business is likely to improve over time.

With that said, the long-term trajectory of the company's earnings is a lot more important than next year. At Simply Wall St, we have a full range of analyst estimates for HBT Financial going out to 2026, and you can see them free on our platform here..
