Commodities trader Glencore has been ordered to pay $3 million to the Port of Newcastle after losing a court battle over a dispute about the fees it is charged to export coal.
The northern NSW port, which mostly exports coal, had claimed that it was owed $3 million in unpaid invoices plus $65,839 in interest by Glencore after being sued in the NSW Supreme Court by the Swiss-headquartered mining company.
