Shanghai | There’s one major problem with the Trump administration pressing Australia and Japan to commit to joining the US in a war over Taiwan against China. It’s the uncertainty over the circumstances in which such a blank cheque would be cashed.
The Pentagon is pushing Japan and Australia to make clear what role they would play if a conflict erupted between the US and China over Taiwan, the Financial Times reported on the weekend.
