TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The collaboration between the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the robotics company that showcased police robots at the 79th Bhayangkara Anniversary began at the Indo Defence 2025 exhibition. PT Ezra Robotics Technology, one of the companies engaged by Polri, was asked to participate in the celebration of the Bhayangkara Corps' anniversary.
The President Director of PT Ezra Robotics Technology, Dhanisakka Vardhana, stated that the invitation to collaborate came from the Chief of Bhayangkara Samapta Corps (Kakorsabhara), Inspector General Mulia Hasudungan Ritonga. "We participated in the exhibition and were visited by Kakorsabhara Inspector General Ritonga. He asked us to participate in the Bhayangkara Anniversary event," said Dhanisakka when contacted by Tempo on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
Dhanisakka explained that M.H. Ritonga invited Ezra Robotics to send robots for the K9 dog robot unit. "Become part of his K9 unit," he said.
Ezra Robotics deployed a total of five robots: one X30 Pro and two Lite-3 Pros from Deep Robotics and two GO2 Pros from Unitree.
"We sent these robots to the Sabhara Corps and also sent our members to train the police personnel who will control these robots in the field during the event," he said.
According to Dhanisakka, these five robots are already equipped with artificial intelligence (AI). However, due to the involvement of many parties in the Bhayangkara Anniversary event, his company chose to equip the robots with remote controls to "minimize any possible risks."
Dhanisakka stated that so far, their company's collaboration with the Polri is only for exhibiting robots at the police's anniversary, and there is no further agreement to purchase robots. He also said that Ezra Robotics has not been involved in any tender processes. "There are no processes yet," he said.
At the Bhayangkara Anniversary event, Dhanisakka expressed hope for further cooperation with Polri in the use of robots. "For now, our collaboration is only like this. But for the future, we hope," he said when met at the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
The company's president director explained that the X30 type robot displayed at the Bhayangkara Anniversary at Monas functions as a crowd control tool and logistics carrier. "It can carry up to 85 kg. For events like this, instead of using trolleys back and forth, just ask it to carry," he said.
He claimed that these robots also have the potential for military weaponry. However, this depends on the company's research and development efforts to modify them.
PT Ezra Robotics Technology describes itself as a robot provider and one-stop solution for robotics needs in Indonesia. In integrating the required devices and sensors as well as AI programming, Ezra Robotics collaborates with the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) in Surabaya, which has been a champion and dominant force in robotics competitions over the past few years.
