Spending on minerals exploration was the weakest in almost four years in the March quarter, as companies scaled back their activity amid weaker commodity prices and uncertainty from global trade tensions.
Exploration spending fell to $643.52 million in the three months to March 31, according to data from advisory firm BDO. It’s the lowest level since June 2021 and marked a 19 per cent drop from the previous quarter.
