The Big Eight Crypto Policy Organizations will issue a joint statement calling on Congress to include BRCA in market structure legislation

BlockBeats News, June 9th, according to crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett, a joint statement from eight major cryptocurrency industry associations is set to be released, with Uniswap and Jump Crypto also participating in the statement, expressing support for the inclusion of the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act (BRCA) in the latest version of the CLARITY Act.

Eight leading cryptocurrency policy organizations in Washington, D.C. have issued a joint statement calling on Congress to incorporate the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act (BRCA) into market structure legislation.These organizations include: the DeFi Education Fund, Coin Center, Solana Policy Institute, The Digital Chamber, Blockchain Association, Crypto Council for Innovation, Bitcoin Policy Institute, and Paradigm.

They stated that this amendment is crucial to protecting software developers and infrastructure providers that do not custody customer funds. The amendment was initially proposed by Tom Emmer and has garnered bipartisan support, including from Rep. Ritchie Torres. Many in the industry see it as a foundational policy safeguard for DeFi developers. The joint statement calls on lawmakers to include the BRCA in the CLARITY Act, which is a House bill regarding digital asset market structure.
