BlockBeats News, June 4th. Six Nobel laureates in economics recently published an open letter expressing concerns about the tens of trillions of dollars in tax and spending legislation passed by House Republicans last month. The main concern lies in the cuts to the Medicaid and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), as they believe these programs are vital to American families. The House version of the bill would cut Medicaid spending by $700 billion and drastically reduce the SNAP program by $300 billion, marking the largest cuts in the history of these two programs. The open letter calls on the Senate to reject the bill and start over in crafting a budget. (Golden Finance)
