BlockBeats News, May 30th, According to The Guardian, as questions about deep and secretive ties between the Trump administration and the cryptocurrency industry continue to heat up, a senior Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives has called on Donald Trump to publicly disclose the list of attendees at a private dinner held last week for the major investors of his Meme coin, TRUMP.
At a star-studded cryptocurrency conference in Las Vegas this week, as the Trump administration gave a green light to the industry, Representative Jamie Raskin from Maryland, the chief Democratic member of the House Judiciary Committee, called on Thursday for an investigation into a private dinner held last week at Trump's Virginia golf club specifically for the major buyers of his TRUMP digital token.
In a letter, he wrote: "Releasing this list will let the American people know who poured tens of millions of dollars into our president's pocket so we can start to figure out what they received in exchange for these vast sums of money, aside from the almost worthless Meme coin."
As Vice President JD Vance and other senior Trump administration officials appeared in Las Vegas on Wednesday and Thursday at the "Bitcoin 2025" conference to actively promote the U.S. government's crypto-friendly policies to industry leaders and investors, Raskin's investigation call was also made.
