The announcement that payments start-up Airwallex had raised $467 million in “one of the country’s biggest funding rounds” dropped Wednesday night. And if ever we needed evidence that venture capitalists are farm animals, this was it.
Because while the round was led by Square Peg and Paul Bassat (who are existing investors), the other two big VC firms Blackbird and Airtree showed up for the first time.
