BlockBeats News, May 20th. Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that he had two different forms of conversations with U.S. President Trump on Monday. The first was a one-on-one conversation, and the second involved the leaders of France, Finland, Germany, Italy, and the EU. Zelensky said that the second conversation was longer and of a different nature.
Zelensky stated that we are considering holding a high-level summit involving Ukraine, Russia, the United States, EU countries, and the UK. He pointed out that Turkey, the Vatican, or Switzerland could serve as the venue for the meeting, and he hoped that the meeting could take place as soon as possible. At the same time, Zelensky stated that Ukraine would not withdraw its troops from parts of its territory and would not succumb to any ultimatums from Russia. He hoped that the previously agreed prisoner exchange with Russia could take place in the coming days or weeks.
In the first conversation with Trump, Zelensky emphasized the importance of achieving a ceasefire, continuing sanctions against Russia, and ensuring that any decisions involving Ukraine must be made with Ukraine's consent.
Furthermore, Zelensky expressed anticipation for Europe to announce a new round of strong sanctions against Russia and urged the U.S. to increase sanctions on Russian banks and the energy sector to reduce Russia's funds for military expenditure. (Golden Finance)
