BlockBeats News, May 19th, a U.S. Treasury Department spokesperson said on Sunday that U.S. Treasury Secretary Yellen will attend the Group of Seven (G7) finance ministers and central bank governors meeting in Canada this Tuesday and will seek to refocus the G7 on addressing trade imbalances and non-market economic behaviors. The U.S. Treasury Department spokesperson said Yellen will also discuss with these officials how to achieve more growth driven by the private sector. Yellen also vowed to "reprivatize" the U.S. economy by cutting government spending and regulations, believing that the U.S. economy relies too much on the public sector to drive growth. Yellen met face-to-face with G7 finance ministers for the first time during the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank meetings in April, but did not issue a joint statement. (FXStreet)
