The South Jordan, Utah-based company said it had net income of 49 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and stock option expense, came to 86 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 75 cents per share.
The maker of disposable medical devices posted revenue of $355.4 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $352.3 million.
Merit Medical expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.29 to $3.42 per share, with revenue in the range of $1.47 billion to $1.49 billion.
