The pace of Australian home building slowed in the final three months of 2024, with commencements of new houses and attached homes both falling at their fastest rate in more than a year.
Standalone house starts dropped 6 per cent to a seasonally adjusted 26,549 in the December quarter, while commencements of apartments, townhouses and semidetached homes fell 1.5 per cent to 15,217, new Australian Bureau of Statistics figures on Wednesday showed.
