Thursday’s HotCopper Trends: Sayona merger, Opthea slashes jobs | April 10, 2025

The ASX has been up, charging 4.7% higher at around 7,720 points today.

Sayona Mining (ASX:SYA) has been among the most watched on HotCopper forums on news it has merged with NASDAQ-listed Piedmont Lithium. The name of the company will be changed to Elevra Lithium once the deal closes.

Sayona Mining has been 1.6 cents in early afternoon trades.

BOSS Energy (ASX:BOE) has also been trending on the forums after presenting at the Resources Rising Stars conference today. The company shared actual production and sales results for Q3 FY25.

Boss Energy has been trading at $2.55.

Finally, Opthea (ASX:OPT) shared a corporate update after the termination of its COAST Phase 3 clinical trials. In light of the negative trial results, the Board has decided to reduce costs and has slashed 65% of the workforce.

Opthea has been around 60 cents.
