OUE was awarded the tender to lease and develop the new hotel in Terminal 2 last April, and expects it to be operational by 2028.
OUE has entered into a joint venture with TC Realty SG to develop Hotel Indigo Changi Airport which is expected to be completed and operational by 2028.
OUE was awarded the tender to lease and develop the new hotel in Changi Airport Terminal 2 on Apr 26, 2024, by Changi Airport Group.
TC Realty is wholly-owned by Tokyo Century Corporation, a Japanese non-banking financial services company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. It developed and manages ANA InterContinental Beppu Resort & Spa and Hotel Indigo Karuizawa, and the upcoming Dorchester Collection set to open in 2028.
OUE’s deputy CEO and executive director Brian Riady says that this collaboration aligns with the company’s “asset right” strategy to optimize capital deployment and grow its third-party funds under management over time.
“It also paves the way for a strategic partnership between OUE and Tokyo Century to pursue future real estate opportunities in Singapore and beyond,” Riady adds.
Hotel Indigo Changi Airport will be a 255-room, 163 metre long hotel including a rooftop pool, a gym, and panoramic views of the runway and airport.
Shares in OUE Limited closed flat at 94.5 cents on March 25.
