The Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) has snapped its five-day winning streak, its longest run since early January, as global markets reacted to the news of a 25 per cent tariff on US imports of automobiles.
The ASX ended the day down 0.4 per cent to 7,969 points at the close of trade.
Tech stocks and property REITs dropped more than 2 per cent each.
